On to the Next 1,000 !

Well, it's been a while since we were hoping to celebrate reaching our goal of playing 2,000 gigs, and alas, we just were not able to pull it off...

Pull off the celebration, that is---you might recall that due to illness and the torrential rains of Hurricane IDA, we had to cancel gig # 2,000 and the big celebration we had planned for that nite of Friday, September 30th...

That meant that our private party booked for the following nite of Saturday, October 1st actually became our 2,000th gig ! Vocalist Marilyn Brown and her friends assembled a guest list of almost 150 people to help celebrate a triple-birthday party for herself and her 2 longtime girlfriends @ the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts ! Alumnus Forrest Young stepped in on drum duties and Larry Lyles (Gypsy Roots) handled the stage lighting AND provided some keyboard help during Gary's absence due to his Covid-19 quarantine...

Later, we valiantly attempted to reschedule the 2,000th celebration, but came up empty on every single try---too many conflicts within the band and with the venues, and not enough dates on the ol' calendar---sigh---such is life...

However, we DO have a public date set for the POUR HOUSE in the West End on Christmas Eve "Eve" (!), DecĀ  23rd, so we'll acknowledge our milestone that nite and get started on our NEXT one-thousand gigs !
